Why do prices vary for stump removal?
Our stump removal quotes are generally based on the size of the stump, as measured across the widest section at ground level. Other items that may contribute to the price estimate are based on the following:Removal of interlock
- Removal of fencing
- Obstructions requiring extra time for setup or removal
- Safety precaution for sprinkler and electrical
How do you remove stumps?
- We use a specialized piece of industrial equipment called a stump grinder. The cutter wheel moves side to side until the stump is ground approximately 6”– 8” below the surface.
Why do you not pull the stump out?
- The stump is not pulled out because this approach tends to heave the ground, which disrupts the area surrounding the stump and causes more damage
Do you have professional equipment?
- Our trucks, trailers and stump removal equipment are all modern, state-of-the-art and well maintained to optimize performance and prevent break-downs and delays.
Will your equipment be able to access my backyard?
- Our stump grinder is powerful enough to grind down the largest stumps but narrow enough to fit through openings as small as 34”, which allows us to access most back yards and tight spaces.
Will the stump removal equipment damage my lawn or the vicinity around the stump?
- Our stump grinder also maneuvers softly on large air filled tires that helps prevent it from leaving marks and ruts in your lawn.
- We also erect sheets of plywood to protect any buildings and structures that are adjacent to the grinding area.
How long does it take to remove a stump?
- Depending on the size of the stump, we can normally remove your stump, back fill and clean the area within an hour on average.
What do I need to consider prior to the stump removal?
- We will need to be informed of any underground sprinkler system, wiring or obstacles to ensure they are not damaged.
- Please ensure arrangement are made for children and pets to be away from the stump grinding area, on the day of the appointment.
Will there be a hole left where the stump used to be?
- After grinding the stump, the mulch created from the wood is usually enough to back fill the hole. For a small fee we can include fresh topsoil, seed or sod. You also have the option of providing your own back fill, seed or sod to save money
Is your work guaranteed?
- If you are not 100% satisfied with our work we will return within 24 hours to address your concerns free of charge.
Can I expect any future problems where the stump was once located?
- Given that removing all the old roots is nearly impossible, many of them will remain in place underground and will eventually rot, which may promote mushroom growth for a short period of time.
- Some types of old tree roots will also grow sprouts, which should be removed on a regular basis to prevent any part of the tree from growing back. This will also only occur for a very short period after the stump is removed.
Starting as low as $99.
We also offer discounts for multiple tree stumps.
